Aussie Meditation

The Not-So-Great News

Workplaces in Australia can be pretty stressful. A recent Safe Work Australia report highlighted the huge number of mental health claims are due to work-related stress. With factors like high demands, long hours, and job uncertainty, many Aussies are feeling the strain, leading to anxiety, depression, and burnout.

But Here’s Some Good News

While Australian businesses are starting to focus on mental health, they haven’t fully embraced mindfulness yet. But globally? Big names are hopping on the mindfulness train. Even top schools like Harvard Business School have integrated mindfulness into their programs. There’s a shift happening!

Why Choose Aussie Meditation?

Unified Mindfulness has been at the centre of ground-breaking Workplace Mindfulness Research. While some Workplace Mindfulness Offerings ‘out there’ have facilitators with as little as 2 days training a Certified Unified Mindfulness Trainer has done at least 440 hours of in-person training. Designed by Shinzen Young and used by giants like Harvard Medical School for Mindfulness research, this system is perfect for the workplace.

For an approach you can trust you’d want:

  • Detailed, clear instructions.
  • A defined skill-set framework.
  • Methods to integrate mindfulness into daily life.
  • Techniques to help you face any challenge.
  • Programs led by someone who knows their stuff.

We dive into how it can really benefit you:

FAQs

Not at all.

The mind thinks involuntarily just like a heart beats and the good news here is that there are plenty of ways to use thoughts as a focus object for meditation.  That means you can access all the benefits of meditation even if you are someone with a busy mind. No need to try and stop your thoughts.

Busy minds welcome.

To really start getting the most out of  meditation practice all it takes is 10 minutes a day.

Don’t have 10 minutes?

Maybe you’ll feel differently once you know that those 10 minutes can be done even while driving (with the right technique) or walking, working out and more.

We’ll show you how to bring mindfulness into any part of your day. That might look like waiting in a queue, sitting in a meeting, having a conversation, brushing your teeth, preparing for a difficult discussion or having a meal. The list is actually endless. These kinds of moments all add up when it comes to developing your skills, accessing the benefits and becoming a more mindful you.

One of the big misconceptions out there is that meditation is only about becoming calm. The transformative potential of mindfulness offers a meditator much more. Mindfulness practice involves 3 attentional skills. These skills work together and naturally develop both calmness and alertness. Instead of relying on a certain level of stress to fuel your ‘edge’ you’ll have the combination of calm and clarity that you feel when you wake refreshed after a really restful sleep. You’re also less exhausted because you use mindfulness to manage stress instead of fight it. So you have more energy, not less. Your heightened calm allows you to remain unruffled under pressure and the alertness, clarity and attention to detail helps you make better decisions. That’s an edge.

“Mindfulness has been something I’ve been wanting to delve into for a while.  While I’ve only completed a few classes with Mark, I have thoroughly enjoyed what I’ve learnt.  Mark runs our class in a very calm, empathetic and professional manner. He is extremely informative and is able to convey what mindfulness involves in a way that is clear and insightful. Thoroughly enjoying the sessions and would recommend to anyone who, like me post-covid, has been thinking of doing something for themselves.”

Catherine

“I would like to say thank you & how grateful I am for your guidance and for all shared with me about  Unified Mindfulness. I can not explain how good it is to have someone so freely give. I always left our classes with a genuine feeling of pleasure & well-being.  The big smile when you walk in and your soothing voice made it so easy to feel good and to fall into a state of meditation. I enjoyed every class. You are so generous with your time & you are such a beautiful person. I can not thank you enough.”

Heather

“I decided to try Unified Mindfulness through Aussie Meditation as a way to re-introduce mindfulness practice in to my life. I found it very practical and tangible. The frustrations I sometimes experienced with other classes did not come up in Mark’s classes. He was succinct in his guidance with tools/approach for the many internal and mental challenges that come up during the meditation learning experience. I would highly recommend this course.”
