Workshop Description

In this Workshop you'll learn the Core Skills of Mindfulness as defined by the Unified Mindfulness System.

Developing ANY skill requires practice and a clear framework for skill development.

We'll show you how practising a Mindfulness Technique provides a framework for developing those Core Skills. Like training at the gym leads to improvements in your physical fitness, training the core attention skills of mindfulness leads to experiencing the research supported benefits of mindfulness.

We’ll unpack the Unified Mindfulness Signature Technique which is both precise and adaptable allowing you to take mindfulness practice into every part of your day. 

You’ll learn how the Unified System divides the world of sensory experience to create a framework that gives a meditator an enormous range of options. This clarity and the range of possibilities is motivating and fascinating. 

If you’re someone who believes that having a ‘busy mind’ or ‘being emotional’ means you can’t meditate - think again. Like any kind of experience, auditory or visual thought and emotion can be used as ‘focus objects’ during meditation - in fact they can be great sources of insight.

We’ll answer many common questions that typically arise as your practice grows. This will give you tools to navigate challenges that may appear and to help you take advantage of rewards that naturally emerge from practice. 

You'll do a live guided meditation so you can gain valuable, practical experience with expert support.

Yes – there are a few options.

We’ll be running all of our Courses, Workshops and Retreats on numerous occasions throughout the year. We update the Courses Page regularly with new dates and times.

Also we will soon have a pre-made (not live) version of this course available in the Learning Centre. Once you’ve purchased it you’ll have access to it for life. You’ll be able to go through it at your own pace as many times as you want. The course will contain all the same instruction with videos, written lessons and quizzes.

The mind thinks involuntarily just like a heart beats so you’re in good company with the rest of humanity.

The good news here is that there are plenty of ways to use thoughts as a focus object for meditation which means that you can access all the benefits of meditation even if you are someone with a busy mind. No need to try and stop your thoughts.

To really start getting the most out of your meditation practice all it takes is 10 minutes a day.

You don’t have 10 minutes?

Maybe you’ll feel differently once you know that those 10 minutes can be done even while driving (with the right technique) or walking, working out and more.

We’ll show you how to bring mindfulness into any part of your day. That might look like waiting in a queue, sitting in a meeting, having a conversation, brushing your teeth, preparing for a difficult discussion or having a meal. The list is actually endless. These kinds of moments all add up when it comes to developing your skills, accessing the benefits and becoming a more mindful you.
